ALDImobile have announced today a change to some of their prepaid offerings to add more value and inclusions for customers.
From 23 September, ALDImobile’s new $15 S Value Pack will launch with 250MB of data, up to 125 minutes of talk and a staggering 50,000 standard SMS. This equates to more than one text message every minute, in every hour, for 30 days. ALDImobile will also launch a new $25 L Value Pack, including up to 500 minutes of talk, free weekend calls, 50,000 SMS and a whopping 1.5GB of data.
The current $10 S and $30 L value packs will be discontinued but remain available to existing customers, whilst the $20 M Value Pack will remain the same, and the $35 XL and $45 XXL value packs will be improved to offer additional value.
ALDImobile’s current plans are as set out below:
$15 S Value Pack | $25 L Value Pack | $35 XL Value Pack | $45 XXL Value Pack | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Included calls | Up to 125 min | Up to 500 min | 43,200 min | 43,200 min |
SMS | 50,000 | 50,000 SMS + 20,000 MMS | ||
Data | 250MB | 1.5GB | 2.5GB + 500MB weekend data | 4.5GB + 500MB weekend data |
Expiry | 30 days | |||
Bonus | Free calls and SMS to ALDImobile customers |
ALDImobile also have a range of new data packs available; here’s their current lineup:
$15 data pack | $30 data pack | $50 data pack | |
---|---|---|---|
Included data | 1.5 GB | 4 GB | 6 GB |
Expiry | 30 days | 30 days | 90 days |
All things considered these appear to be pretty decent value; ALDImobile’s services are delivered on Telstra’s 3G / HSPA network, meaning you get great coverage (although not 4G speeds) around the country, and fairly well priced data. While it’s not unlimited, the $45 XXL Value Pack is practically unlimited with 720 hours of included calls and virtually unlimited SMS/MMS. The only real limitation, then, is the 4.5 GB included data, with an extra 500 MB to use on weekends only. That, for $45 a month, isn’t too shabby at all. Most pre- and post-paid plans have significantly less data included and fewer call/SMS inclusions.
Customers both new and old can take advantage of these new plans, with new customers needing only a $5 SIM card from any ALDI store to get started (which includes $5 credit which can be put towards the packs set out above). The dedicated ALDImobile app allows users an easy way to check where they’re up to with balance, history and expiry information readily accessible.
Ausdroid will be taking ALDImobile for a spin soon, and we’ll let you know our findings!
These plans look very interesting. What network do they piggyback off?

Of course I read the article. I must’ve skipped over it. Piss off tbh.
