At Google’s VR Keynote this morning, Google’s VP, Google VR took to the stage for a deeper dive into Google’s VR plans, including their hardware and software options.
Software wise, Google will be introducing new DayDream Labs and DayDream playground to help developers learn alongside Google as they explore VR, but the hardware plans for Google also came to light.
Mr Bavor announced that alongside hardware built to Google’s Daydream spec being released by partners from Samsung, HTC, LG, Xiaomi, Huawei, ZTE, Asus and Alcatel, Google will be releasing their own headset and controller and making it available.
While no details on pricing or specific availability dates of the controller and headset were made available, the same ‘Fall’ time-frame was given for all hardware announcements.
