It would seem that you will be able to get a Chromecast Ultra 4K streaming device for Christmas, with named sources advising us here at Ausdroid that Officeworks stores are beginning to get stock but no ETA was given for when you will be actually able to get one in store.
The sources have confirmed to Ausdroid that Chromecast Ultra will retail for $99 in Australia and that Officeworks stores have stock now. Upon checking with a couple of local stores within Western Sydney, it would seem some stores have got stock this morning whilst other stores are yet to get their stock of Chromecast Ultra’s yet.
As of the the time of publication the Officeworks website hasn’t yet been updated with the Chromecast Ultra device, with the website only displaying the original Chromecast 2 device only.
If you are interested on getting your hands on a Chromecast Ultra 4K streaming dongle, you might want to contact your local Officeworks store for availability.
Will a Chromecast Ultra be on your Christmas List?

Google may have got them to produce a special version though, to cut the overheating that would otherwise occur. H265 is offloaded to the GPU/Video elements so the CPU doesn’t matter much for that. Ultra is likely to have VP9 as well, the chips usually do, and its… Read more »
