At Baselworld 2017 last month, a number of Android Wear announcements were made including the launch of two new watches in the Fossil Q line: Venture and Explorist. Fossil has now confirmed that the watches will be arriving in Australia in October.

While no pricing has been announced, the US pricing shows the watches will retail for between $295 – $315 US Dollars each – that’s $393 – $419 AUD before any markup is applied.

The Venture and Explorist are the “Slimmest” Fossil branded smartwatches available, with a 11.3 mm thin case. The watches will have a 42MM diameter face and best of all, have no ‘flat tyre’ on the display which is both brighter in contrast and have better resolution.

No specific specs have been released for the watches, so we’re not sure if they will support Android Pay with NFC out of the box – although they are expected to launch with Android Wear 2.0.

We’ll be getting more information on the Fossil Q Venture and Explorist when they arrive in Australia in October.

Can’t tell from the pic, but does it have the ‘flat tire’ or whatever they call it where it is not a perfectly round screen?

Confirmed, no flat tyre. Fully round display according to Fossil. Looks like the days of the flat tyre Android Wear display are done.

I’m looking forward to that release date.
