The world isn’t what it used to be, it’s not as safe as it once was to walk the streets and the odds are if something unusual or bad happens; someone is recording it for use on social media. The problem is that if you’re the only one there, it iss entirely possible the aggressor may decide taking your phone.

While the likelihood is low for any individual to be involved in such a nasty situation, Mobile Witness has you covered. Developed by Australian developers Mobile Witness can record, and back up your video, audio and any photos taken, with the app continually and automatically uploading the data to your chosen cloud storage location eg. Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, or if you want, on your own personal servers (there’s instruction on how to do this in the app).

The app records all of the vital information that may be needed if you are requested to produce video or pictures such as date, time, GPS location and of course you can discretely record audio if you wish. All of this is of course with note that if you record private conversations or actions without consent there are potentially legal repercussions depending on your local laws.

Making specific mention on their Play Store Listing of the fact that nothing is sent to their servers, clearly the developers have a mind for privacy and if you’re thinking it’s better to be safe than sorry then perhaps you should seriously think about heading to the Play Store and whacking this on your phone.
