Bang & Olufssen’s consumer facing brand, B&O Play has announced a new collection of audio products, inspired by the ‘fashion and interior colour trends of the season’.

The collection includes the Beoplay P2, H4, H5 and A1 in a range of new colours that are reminiscent more of the Autumn season that the northern hemisphere is approaching. You’ll find a soft range of colours attached to these new products, with soft lilacs, violet, cityscape grey (vapour) and deep brown (umber). Though we’re heading into Spring here in Australia the new range looks quite sophisticated.

Beoplay Speakers

The Beoplay A1 and P2 are ultra portable speakers made from premium materials including a polymer base and anodised aluminium top designed by Cecilie Manz. The P2 includes a 10 hour battery life charged through USB-C and comes with a microphone for voice activation. As an ultra-portable speaker it’s also splash and dust resistant and weighing in at just 275grams means you really can take it anywhere.

The speaker itself includes 2 x 15W class D for woofer and tweeters for a great sound.

The Beoplay A1 is again splash and dust resistant with an up to 24 hours of battery life, the aluminium top will protect the interior from any harmful knocks, with B&O talking about how each scratch and dent on the speaker adds character. This speaker too includes a built-in microphone allowing you to speak to callers.

The Beoplay A1 includes 2 x 30W Class D woofer and tweeter and 2 x 140W peak power.

The Beoplay P2 and A1 will become available on the 31st of August with the P2 priced at $249, while the A1 will be priced at $379.

Beoplay Headphones

The Beoplay H4 and H5 are wireless headphones and earphones, which are designed by Jakob Wagner. The H4 are over the ear type headphones, while the H5 are wireless earphones designed for a more active use case.

The Beoplay H4 have a long-life 19 hours of play time, with on-device controls for pairing, and music control. Though wireless, the headphones can also be connected to your devices through a 3.5mm cable supplied in the box. An included microphone means you can take calls, or simply enjoy your tunes with the 40mm electro-dynamic driver included in the plush lambskin leather ear cups.

The Beoplay H5 are more active in their nature, more suitable for going for a run than sitting listening to a high fidelity sound, though with a 6.4mm electro-dynamic you should get quite decent sound quality. The earphones are designed to fit snugly in your ear with silicon ear tips in four different sizes allowing for a good fit no matter your ear size.

The earphones are sweat resistant, with a membrane designed to prevent moisture interfering with the electronics, so feel free to sweat away.

The Beoplay H4 and H5 will also be available from August 31st, with the H4 priced at $399 while the Beoplay H5 will cost $379.

You can find the new seasonal collection of Beoplay audio products when they go on sale at the end of the month at Myer, as well as select Leading Independent Retailers, Bang & Olufsen’s online store at beoplay.com/collection and of course Bang & Olufsen stores.

Earphones are better than headphones. Most find it convenient to use than headphones.
