Today is ‘Force Friday’, a big event for Star Wars fans world-wide with the release of all the toys for the upcoming Last Jedi movie. At IFA, Lenovo has announced a new Augmented Reality (AR) headset, controller and tracker that will make your dreams of being a Jedi closer than ever.
The Lenovo Star Wars Jedi Challenges kit includes the sleek, portable and lightweight, Lenovo Mirage AR headset which you can slip your Android or iOS device into, as well as a Tracking Beacon, collectible-quality Lightsaber controller and of course the app for your phone.
The tracking beacon is placed on the floor and is tracked by two fish-eye sensors built into the headset. This tracking beacon allows you to move around naturally in the game. The lightsaber too is tracked by the headset, connecting via Bluetooth.
There are three experiences to take part in:
- Lightsaber Battles. With their very own lightsaber, fans can train against legendary dark side villains like Kylo Ren and Darth Vader.
- Strategic Combat. Players marshal the forces of the Republic, Rebel Alliance, and Resistance against the might of the Separatists, Empire, and First Order in epic battles across their living room floors. Players can hone their skills in strategy and tactics as they engage in battles.
- Holochess. Perhaps one of the most iconic board games brought to film, Holochess first leapt into moviegoer hearts when it was played on the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope™. It has now been brought to life in Jedi Challenges. Fans can direct their holographic alien pieces across the board, wrestling for territory and control.
Star Wars: Jedi Challenges will be available from November in Australia and New Zealand at RRP $399AUD and RRP $449NZD respectively. You can check it out on jedichallenges.com
Looks awesome!
