Sony’s 3D Creator app let’s you scan in objects including faces, heads, food and more using different scanning modes which are rendered in 3D. You can then share these models as avatars in Sony’s AR app or even models you can 3D print.
Sony has advised via social media that the Xperia XZ Premium will see the 3D Creator App delivered with the Oreo update that was announced for a number of handsets earlier this week.

Sony has further advised that camera updates will be a part of the Oreo update, which will presumably include the necessary back-end features required for the 3D Creator App.
