The TCL made Blackberry Motion has been officially announced overnight, with Blackberry unveiling the device during GITEX Technology Week, a technology event held in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
The handset has been followed since its early days of development under the codename Krypton, but is officially now known as the Blackbery Motion. The handset features a FullHD resolution 5.5″ display, with a Snapdragon 625 SoC, 4GB RAM, 4,000mAh battery (with QuickCharge 3.0 support) and 12MP (f/2.0 aperture) camera on the rear and 8MP sensor on the front.
The phone will only be made available in selected markets, starting with the UAE where it will retail for Dh1,699 or just shy of $600AUD ($595.64AUD to be more precise), though it will roll out in other markets (possibly including Australia) later this quarter.
There’s no word on which version of Android the handset will launch with, but it will contain all the BlackBerry apps including Blackberry Hub and BlackBerry Calendar you’ve grown to love. Their much vaunted DTEK by BlackBerry security software will also be present on the phone.
It’s a good looking, keyboard-less handset. Crackberry Kevin of crackberry.com who was at the launch shared a few more photos of the phone from the launch:

The launch of BlackBerry Motion allows us to further diversify our product offering, delivering new experiences while remaining steadfast with the privacy, reliability and productivity that have made BlackBerry so iconic over the years. While the initial launch of our newest BlackBerry smartphone will be limited, this is an exciting addition to our growing BlackBerry smartphone portfolio, setting a strong foundation for further portfolio and market growth in the years to come.
The phone is now being teased on the @BBMobile twitter account, but stay tuned here for local launch info possibly later this month.
