The announcement of the U11 Plus (+) and U11 Life is expected at the HTC November 2nd event and details are continuing to leak out including details on the colour options for the U11+.
There’s a couple of leaks today, with the first centring around the U11 Plus colour options – but there’s also a look at the Android One packing U11 Life. According to Evan Blass there will be three colour options for the U11+ including Black, Silver and a translucent option.

The Black and Silver are fairly standard, making the translucent option a very exciting prospect. Exactly how translucent, the translucent will be was up for discussion internally here at Ausdroid – at least it was until a video showing the phone, in the flesh as it were, showed up. It was an accidental leak of both the U11+ and the U11 Life, the Android One runing, with the video quickly removed – but hey, this is the internet and nothing is truly deleted.
Can’t access YouTube? Here’s a screencapture of the phones translucent rear which shows a semi see-through rear on the phone. What the ring is we’ll have to wait and see, but it could possibly be a wireless charging coil.
The hardware on the U11+ will include a 6″ WQHD+ resolution display and a Snapdragon 835 SoC with options for either 4GB or 6GB RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage. The single sensor camera will include a 12MP sensor behind an f/1.7 aperture while an 8MP front-facing camera will be on the front. A 3,930mAh battery with support for QuickCharge 3.0 will power the device and an IP68 dust/waterproof rating will protect you from lifes little accidents.
If the Android One based U11 Life is more your cup of tea, a 5.2″ 1080p display will be included and powered by a Snapdragon 630 SoC with either 4GB or 6GB RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage. The phone will feature 16MP sensors on both the front and rear of the phone and ‘Edge Sense’ squeezable sides will be there as well. An IP67 water/dust proof rating means it won’t be quite as waterproof as the U11+ but it’s enough – and Android Oreo will be on board as well.
The announcement of both phones is expected tomorrow, but anything could happen so we’ll have to tune in to find out what HTC unveils.
This might draw me away from the mate 10, if it releases this month and is priced competitively.
