Sony’s 2018 low to mid-range line up has been starting to leak and today Evan Blass has spilled on the details of the Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2, including renders of the phones.

Unlike the rumoured higher end Sony Xperia phones, Sony’s low to mid-range phones appear to follow Sonys design language from the last couple of years with some larger bezels. The Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra will both offer FullHD resolution screens, but the XA2 will have a 5.2″ display, while the XA2 Ultra will come with a 6″ screen.

According to Evan the phones will switch from a Mediatek processor to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC, with the XA2 coming with 3GB RAM/32GB Storage, while the XA2 Ultra will have 4GB/6GB. The XA2 and XA2 Ultra will both have a 21MP rear camera, while the front facing cameras differ wildly. The XA2 will have a 7MP selfie-camera, while the XA2 Ultra will get dual 15MP front-facing cameras both of which are 4K capable.

The phones will be available in a variety of colours as you see below and come with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner which you can see in more renders over on Venture Beat:

The less ‘exciting’ Xperia phone leak is for the Xperia L2, which will be an entry level device according to Evan. The phone will come with a 5.2″ HD (720P) display, and, like the XA2/XA2 Ultra above, the same design including a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner (which you can see on Venture Beat). The L2 will also come in a range of colours:

Dates for the announcement of the new XA and L series handsets is still unclear, with Evan speculating we may possibly see these at CES, while it’s still possible that Sony will hold the announcement for Mobile World Congress next month.
