One of the best ways to spot upcoming phones is to watch the FCC’s website, where the results of device certification for the US market usually turn up for public viewing.
To that end, eagle-eyed Reddit user mweinbach appears to have spotted the FCC listing for a Samsung device known as SM-G965U (also SM-G965U1, SM-G965W and SM-G965XU), described as a “Multi-band GSM/EDGE/UMTS/CDMA/LTE Phone with Bluetooth, WLAN, RFID and ANT+” – more commonly likely to be known as the Galaxy S9+.
The model number is significant – the Galaxy S8+ was SM-G950.
Notably though, Samsung requested short term confidentiality on photos of the device. The FCC won’t make them public until July, so boo to them for hiding our proof.

The timing certainly fits, with the Galaxy S9 and S9+ rumoured to be announced at Mobile World Congress at the end of February.
