The Galaxy S9 is looking like the top drawcard for Mobile World Congress this year, with most other manufacturers reportedly delaying their launches. There’s a few rumours floating around about the phone including a pre-order date and news the phone will get a dual-SIM option in Europe.
According to Korean news site ETNews, the phone will go up for pre-order on March 2nd for one week with all three major phone carriers in the country giving the acutal launch date of around the 8th or 9th of March. The phone will cost anywhere from ₩950,000 ($1095 AUD) to ₩990,000 ($1141 AUD).
While carrier versions of phones are generally single SIM editions, for anyone looking to purchase the phone outright it seems that a dual-SIM version of the Galaxy S9 is heading to Europe.
MSPowerUser found a listing for a SM-G960F/DS (the DS stands for Dual-SIM apparently) on the Samsung Germany website. It’s not a guarantee or anything, but it gives users who like to use two SIM cards some options if it turns out to be true. Generally ordering in European models of phones is pretty easy, so there’s that.
Samsung will be unveiling the Galaxy S9 in Barcelona just prior to the start of Mobile World Congress. As usual the event wil be live streamed for anyone who wants to watch with the event due to start at 4am AEDT on the 26th of February.
