The latest DJI Osmo Mobile 2 smartphone gimbal announced at CES last month has finally arrived for pre-order in Australia with orders due to ship in March.
The DJI OSMO Mobile 2 Gimbal for iPhone (it will fit other devices) is available initially as an exclusive through Apple Australia’s website for $209.95 with free shipping. Shipments will begin in March with the Apple website listing a window between the 6th and 20th of March, and unfortunately you can’t pick one up from a store with all stores listing it as unavailable for pickup.
The Osmo Mobile 2 Gimbal is a three-axis gimbal which is lighter, and substantially cheaper version of the original smartphone gimbal offering additional options such as zoom control and the option to mount your phone in either landscape or portrait mode. A a 1/4″ universal screw mount on the base allows you to mount it on a tripod for even more videography options.
The software allows for improved face tracking, as well as Hyperlapse, Timelapse and Active Track – an option that lets you select and follow a person in motion.
The DJI Osmo Mobile 2 will be heading to store.dji.com in early February if you have philosophical objections to ordering through Apple.
