If you’ve forgotten about Valentine’s Day then you may be scrambling for something to show your love, but thanks to Telstra you can show your love publicly for the price of an SMS with their Billboard of Love.
The promo has now become an annual affair since Telstra started offering the service in 2011 with the massive 26-metre tall interactive billboard on the side of the Telstra building in Bourke St in Melbourne lighting up with messages of love every Valentines Day. Telstra has shown 400,000 messages since they started with a peak of 12,000 messages an hour last year
It’s easy to get your message up on the billboard, you don’t even need to be a Telstra customer, you simply follow these steps:
- Send an SMS to 0484 MYLOVE (0484 695 683) containing your name, a space, and the name of the one you love from any Australian mobile. Max 160 characters and standard SMS charges apply.
- Once approved, you will receive an MMS reply with a preview of your message on Telstra’s ‘Billboard of Love.’
- The message will then be featured on our Bourke Street Mall billboard in Melbourne for all to see.
- Messages can be sent from 9:00AM on 13 February to 11:59PM on 15 February
The process is fully automated and if you’re looking for a distraction while you duck into a florist for something a little more romantic give it a whirl.
