French electronics manufacturer Archos has joined the list of companies producing Google Assistant powered Smart Displays with their Hello devices debuting at Mobile World Congress 2018.
The Hello Smart Displays come in either 7″ HD resolution or 8.4″ FHD resolution screen sizes with a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth built-in. They too have a built-in ‘high-fidelity’ speaker as well as display, so you can play music from your favourite streaming services such as Google Play Music, Spotify or Pandora or videos from YouTube when you want.
Archos has also built a 4000mAh battery into the unit so you can move it with you from room to room if you want, allowing for a bit more flexibility. That flexibility also allows them to be mounted in either portrait or landscape orientation, depending on your preference.
Like other Smart Displays powered by Google Assistant you will be able to use them for contacting friends, family or colleagues with Duo video calling supported as well using the 5MP camera built-in.
The Hello devices will be hitting the market in ‘Summer’ 2018, so around mid-year and the 7″ model will be priced at 129.99€ incl. VAT while the larger 8.4″ model will be priced at 179.99 € incl. Tax. Archos has not brought anything to Australia for some time, and it’s not likely we’ll be seeing the Hello units here either, but if you like what you see you can grab one while you’re in Europe next time.
