At an event in Beijing, China, Oppo Mobile has today officially unveiled their latest handsets announcing the R15 and R15 ‘Dream Mirror’.
As expected, the phones specs match previous leaks, with the phones powered by different CPUs and camera setups but with the same 6.28-inch 19:9 aspect ratio display (with Notch) and RAM/Storage (6GB/128GB) combination.
The cameras for both phones include a ‘3-HDR’ mode that offers real time grading exposure to ensure your preview matches the final shot. The camera software also offers an improved Beauty Mode which can analyse 296 individual face feature points. Finally Oppo is including an AI Scene recognition mode reminiscent of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro that can recognise 16 objects including dogs, cats, landscapes and more to offer specific manual options that should improve the shots.

Oppo will be releasing ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 for this release. There’s some new improvements in terms of visual look and feel, but the exact improvements to the core OS aren’t really out yet.
In terms of colour options and availability, the Oppo R15 will be available in White, Red, and Purple for ¥2,999 Yuan in China starting April 1. The Oppo R15 Dream Mirror will also be available on April 1st in China but will come in an aluminium model in red for ¥3,299 or a Ceramic option ‘Dark Dream Mirror’ for ¥3,499. No local announcements have been made from Oppo, but we’ll find out that info in due course.
Nice that they are using 8.1, but their customized software is massively bloated and clunky, it makes Samsung look like stock android.
Nice stats for a phone, but if they don’t have NFC might as well chuck them in the bin.
