It’s the spec that all the flagship phones carry these days, and OnePlus is apparently going to bring it to the OnePlus 6 with their latest social media tease talking about waterproofing.
The trend for waterproof phones started with Sony, but quickly moved through all the top tier vendors to the point that IP65/68 dust/waterproofing is a generally expected spec for a flagship. OnePlus of course consider themselves a top tier vendor, so it’s only natural the OnePlus 6 would include it – if this is what the teaser means:
Don’t you just hate it when you have to stop using your phone when it rains? So do we 😉 pic.twitter.com/QEnOdm3Xtk

Of course that’s a generous assessment of the tease, OnePlus could simply mean that it could be splashproof rather than fully protected from immersion.
The inclusion of an IP rating would join a long list of hardware specs that make the OnePlus 6 a truly compelling device. The list of specs include a Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB options for on-board storage expected. The dual camera should include a 20MP+16MP sensors on the rear with F2.6/F1.6 aperture
The OnePlus 6 is expected to be released any time in the next month, with a tie-in Avengers: Infinity War themed version expected to launch sometime around the same time as the movie which hits theatres on April 25th in Australia. We’ll know a lot more about the confirmed specs when it’s officially unveiled.
I hope the volume rocker is improved on the later devices, I have had a OP5 for 6 months and the rocker has gone on mine. Getting support is difficult they are slow and they deliberately hide the abiilty to register a ticket for a faulty phone.
I love the phone but they need to improve processes, am sure it will be resolved soon just hope they take some constructuve criticism.
