Asus Chromebox 3 landing in Australia in late June from $509

The Asus Chromebox 2 was a great device, a good deal of Ausdroid’s content is generated from one of these great little boxes, but it’s time for a refresh and the Asus Chromebox 3 is set to launch in Australia in late June.

The Chromebox 3 keeps the same design as the Chromebox 2, but adds in USB-C support alongside 2x USB 3.0 ports, as well as a Gigabit LAN port (with dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac and BlueTooth 4.2), DisplayPort and HDMI out for monitors, and a headphone jack.

The Chromebox 3 is available for pre-order from only one retailer in Australia currently – Landmark Computers – who are listing four configurations, a Celeron, plus options powered by the Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processor. The Celeron and Core i3 processor come with 4GB of RAM, while the Core i5 and i7 come with 8GB of RAM, but all four come with 32GB of eMMC storage with a microSD card slot on the front to expand the storage if you want.
