The impending announcement of the first OPPO Find series phone in years has gotten a fair bit of attention. The Find series was their true flagship series device before they opted to concetrate on the mid range, and in their latest tease those specs could really be high end.
Taking a leaf out of their (completely unrelated) neighbour OnePlus, OPPO has been drip feeding a series of teases for the phone on social media. The latest comes from their Chinese based Weibo social media account, which lists off a laundry list of high-end specs including a Qualcomm Snadragon 845 SoC, 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage.
A entry with the Chinese regulatory body TENNA showed that two phones – Model #: PAFM00 & PAFT00 – have recently passed through for certification, listing the processor speed at 2.8GHz. Other specs shown in that entry include a 6.4″ FHD+ (2340×1080) resolution AMOLED display and a 3,645mAh battery will also be included.
OPPO yesterday spoke about their camera that will be included in the Find X, including a revolutionary 5x zoom (digital) camera system that will include a 2x Optical Zoom based on a unique periscope system they first announced back at Mobile World Congress last year.
The OPPO hardware has never been an issue with us, with the Chinese company showing a certain flair for design on that front. Their software though – specifically ColorOS – has caused some grief with its close resemblance and funcitonality similar to iOS. With their stock Android effort, Project Spectrum, now dead it remains to be seen if their new link with Google thanks to Project Treble could bring a more stock experience to OPPO phones.
