Ahead of the inaugural Amazon Prime Day in Australia, a 36-hour window starting next Monday where Amazon promises great deals on products across a number of categories, Amazon is teasing customers with a bonus Echo Dot when you buy a full Amazon Echo smart speaker.
The deal will let customers add a Black Echo Dot, normally worth $49, to their order for free when placing an ordering an Amazon Echo in Sandstone, Charcoal or Heather Grey fabric colours for $149. The deal is live now and is available now until 11:59pm on the 15th of July (the day before Prime Day kicks off). Even though the URL for the deal has ‘PrimeDay’ included, you don’t actually need Amazon Prime to be eligible for it, simply tick the box below the ‘Add to Cart’ option for it to be added.
The Amazon Echo line of speakers are pretty decent, with a wide range of Australian companies creating their own third party skills which can be enabled on the speakers and allow for some quite useful functions. We’ve taken a look at both the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot and found them to be quite a useful addition to the average home, as well as any home using smart home devices like Philips Hue light bulbs.
If you’ve been using Google Home and want to check out the competition this is a great way to get in on the action. Head over to Amazon and check out the deal now.
Umm.. it says free and then $79 right next to it. So which is it?
Yeah poor ux. It’s just showing the value you are getting for free but yes it does come across confusing.
If you only want one echo then the deals last month were better, if you want a dot as well then this isnt bad.
