After previously talking about which Xperia phones would see Android Pie, Sony has expanded on the Android Pie rollout including more handsets which will receive the update.
Previously Sony had spoken with GizChina about which Xperia handsets would receive the update, talking about their XZ line, now in a new blog post Sony has confirmed those handsets officially and expanded the line up to include select models of the XA line. The complete list of handsets now includes
- Xperia XZ2
- XZ2 Premium
- XZ2 Compact
- Xperia XZ Premium
- XZ1
- XZ1 Compact
- XA2
- XA2 Ultra
- XA2 Plus
Sony says that their XZ series handsets will begin receiving Android Pie from November, while their XA series handsets will begin receiving the update from ‘early 2019’.
Owners of phones purchased through carriers will of course have to wait for their software validation process to take place, but if you purchased outright the update will be with you asap.
