After announcing support for voice commands in Google Assistant for their wired security cameras last month internationally, Swann has today advised it’s now available in Australia.
The integration means that customers with a wired Swann security camera setup are now able to ask Google Assistant to show them the live feed of any connected camera on Chromecast enabled TVs.
Once the Swann Google Assistant app is enabled on your account, you can issue simple commands including ‘Ask Swann Security to show camera 2’ or ‘Ask Swann Security to switch to camera 5’.
Jeremy Stewart, Vice President, Global Marketing, Swann said
Swann are thrilled to make home security more seamless for consumers by enabling it to integrate with devices that are already in their connected homes. With consumers increasingly using a variety of wireless and portable devices and applications every day, it’s important that security underpins all of this activity.
The range of Swann cameras supporting Google Assistant Voice Commands appears to start with the Swann SWDVK-445804 at $549.95. Swann Australia’s website hasn’t listed the available models, however in the US they’ve dedicated a whole page to which models are compatible – so likely an idea to check here.
