We’ve not yet seen the Blackberry KEY2 launch here in Australia, but on the international scene, Blackberry is already starting to build tension for the announcement of the KEY2 LE at IFA.

The Blackberry Twitter account pushed an update showing off a short video of a teaser for their IFA event which is set for August 30 in Berlin. The tweet shows off the textured rear of a phone believed to be the KEY2 LE (Light Edition) though it stops before getting to the camera. There’s a volume rocker and power button visible on the right hand side of the phone and then it fades to say IFA Berlin 2018.

Blackberry launched the full-scale KEY2 back in June packed full of features, but the LE version is believed to be scaled back to more modest specs.

It’s believed that the KEY2 could be packing a 4.3-inch 1080×1620 resolution display above a hardware keyboard with a Snapdragon 636, 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of storage and a 3,000mAh battery under the hood. A single 13MP sensor will be on the rear and a 5MP selfie camera should be on the front.

We’ll be keen to see what the KEY2 LE has inside when it’s announced and what decisions Blackerry Australia make on what to launch here.
