It seems everything is getting smarter these days, and now it’s your oven with appliance maker Electrolux announcing their ovens will soon be able to be controlled by Google Assistant.
Electrolux has made the announcement focused on their European operations advising that Google Assistant voice integration will start with Electrolux smart ovens in early 2019. Dan Arler, Head of Major Appliances EMEA at Electrolux said
We are very happy to collaborate with Google to give people a simple, rewarding way of interacting with their connected Electrolux appliances. Voice control supports a clear user need. Whether it’s hands-free cooking or just an easier way to interact with the oven, we think consumers will love it.
Using Google Assistant you’ll be able to turn the oven on or off, set the temperature and select a ‘cooking program’.
It’s a heavily European focused announcement, but given the announcement is at IFA and it’s a European focused show, it’s possible and even likely the range will expand globally. Electrolux has a strong presence in Australia and we’re hopeful this could land here next year. Stay tuned for any local info on this front.
Nice, i remember forgetting to turn off multiple times.
