A few weeks ago we reviewed the 8110 refresh that Nokia have released and while it’s not going to meet the daily needs of many users, it’s a great backup/companion phone to your primary device or for users who simply want a phone.
Today HMD have announced that the phone will officially be making its way to Australia through retail channels as of the 20th of September. The Nokia 8110 is a 4G feature phone which is a refresh of the original 8110 from all those years ago and includes the slide to answer calls and a revamped Snake game.
The 8110 has very basic functionality but includes Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Search, and an app store which has Twitter and some games. You can keep track of emails, contacts and your calendar using the Nokia 8110 making it a great second device for those who want simplicity in a classic design. There is also an FM radio and a 25 day standby time making it a great backup device.
We’re really excited to bring another member of the Nokia Originals family to Australia. We want fans to enjoy the iconic curved, slide to answer function whilst still having all their smartphone essentials at their fingertipsJames Robinson, Acting Country Manager for Australia
The Nokia 8110 will be available for just $129 from Harvey Norman, JB Hifi, Big W and Officeworks in both a Traditional Black and the vibrant Banana Yellow. If you are interested keep an eye on their websites or head in-store after the 20th of this month to pick one up.
If it had NFC and Android Pay, I’d be onto it in a flash.
