It’s all about the voice assistants these days. Panasonic has started embracing the future with smart speakers, and they’re moving further into the field with an Alexa & Google Assistant enabled 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player launching in Australia in November.

The premium DP-UB9000 Blu-ray player offers support for 4k Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and CDs as well as Video on Demand content from Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video and USB.

The player is premium with a HCX image processor supporting HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, as well as THX certification and support for analogue 7.1 channel audio offering a package with outstanding picture quality and reference-class sound.

Dual HDMI outputs are included for isolating and transmitting TV (4K video) and amplifier audio on separate channels, which Panasonic says allows for unwanted noise to be suppressed, resulting in high-quality audio reproduction.

The inclusion of voice assistant support means you can get hands-free easy operation thanks to voice control from Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. All you have to do is speak to the player and you can fast forward or pause your favourite movie without using the remote control.

The player will be priced at $1649rrp and will be available in mid-November from specialist consumer electronics retailers in Australia.
