HP, a longtime contender in the Chromebook market, has today announced a new model in their line of premium Chromebooks with the convertible x360 14 Chromebook, launching in the US later this month.
The Chromebook comes with a 360-degree convertible hinge, allowing it to be used in the traditional clamshell style, as well as in tent mode and tablet mode.
The X360 14 comes with a FullHD (1920 x 1080) resolution WLED touch display and is powered by either an 8th Genertaion Intel Core i3 or i5 processor with 8GB of RAM and a 64GB SSD with a microSD card slot. The Chromebook has a large battery allowing for up to 14 hours of life, and comes with 2x USB-C ports and 1 USB-A port and a 3.5mm audio jack.
HP has designed the x360 to be a looker with an Advanced Electrodeposition (AED) application to the cover giving the device a protective coating that’s also decorative with a ‘ceramic-like white finish’ with a cloud blue keyboard deck and matching keys.
Kevin Frost, vice president and general manager, Consumer PCs, HP Inc. spoke about the need from consumers for more premium Chrome OS devices saying

At this stage HP has only announced availability in the US with the Chromebook available for pre-order from HP or Best Buy for $599. We’ve asked HP Australia for any information about the x360 arriving here and we’ll update if there’s any information.
