That’s right… If you’re a OnePlus 5 user and haven’t seen it yet, the Android 9.0 Pie update is rolling out to devices.
We’ve only had a very short time with the update so far but it looks great adding a smooth feeling to the OS bringing OnePlus into line with front-running manufacturers in terms of the OS version update.
Here’s what’s in the update:
- Update to Android 9.0 Pie
- Brand new UI for Android Pie
- Updated to Android security patch 2018.11
- Optimizations for background app process handling
- New DND (Do Not Disturb) mode
- UI improvements for emergency calls
The update file is about 1.7GB to download. For those who’ve yet to see the update on any devices, there’s a number of streamlined and changed general items within the OS. I particularly like the changes in notifications which goes to more an envelope style, the changes to the volume settings and specific to the OP5 is the DND mode changes.
If you’re waiting on an update to your device, check now as you may just be in luck – be wary though it’s nearly 1.8GB.
What are you looking forward to most when your device gets an update to Android Pie?
It was released to production yesterday or today.
Yeah definitely the beta, which has been out for like a week now… Official is probably a good month away…
Yeah jumping the gun there guys, you may have forgotten you are on the beta firmware. It is not available yet for general distribution.
Isn’t it a Beta update??
