After announcing their quite frankly huge smartwatch, the Diesel Full Guard 2.5 at IFA last year, the watch has landed in Australia from $549.
Available through both JB Hifi stores and online, as well as through The Iconic, the watch starts at $549 for with either a Brown Leather band or Black Silicone band, or you can update to a stainless steel band for $599.
The Diesel Full Guard 2.5 is going to turn heads everywhere thanks to the large 11mm thick 46mm x 46mm case which houses a 1.39″ 454×454 resolution display.
While the watch is only just arriving in Australia, it’s already behind the times in terms of technology with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The watch includes a heart rate sensor, untethered GPS, and NFC with support for Google Pay. The watch is also swimproof up to 30m – or 3 Atmospheres according to The Iconic.
If you’re a fan of big watches, this is the one for you, but if you’re not then this one is definitely one to skip. While the technology is behind the times, the looks are quite striking, so if you’re a fan you can head to either JB Hifi or The Iconic to check it out.
FYI, 3 atmospheres is not 30 metres depth, it is 20 metres. In saying that I’d take to 30 metres and leave it there.
Yes, I understand that. It’s a pressure rating. It can be tripped by a jump off a high diving board etc. so be careful.
I’ve read that the 3100 isn’t actually much better than the 2100. Would still end up charging every day.
Having just been in the market for a smartwatch, and being all-in the Google ecosystem, I have to say that no current WearOS device cuts it. This one nearly does, but a 2+ year-old chipset and miserly RAM are going to see this one get obsolete very quickly.
