With MWC quickly approaching we can expect the rate of leaks to increase, case in point today LG’s next device in the “G” line, the G8 ThinQ, saw a few press renders leak out, and they leave very little to the imagination. The renders show all six sides of the rectangular slab which lets us confirm many elements of the phone.
We’re looking at a rather sizable notch upfront with modest bezels all around and a single front-facing camera. Around the back is the fingerprint sensor (can they compete with the top guns without an in-display fingerprint sensor?), dual cameras – likely using LG’s standard and wide angle lens configuration – and a flash. Rounding out the device, on the bottom is a USB-C port, power and volume buttons and what appears to be a 3.5 mm headphone port.
Overall the design is what I would call, familiar featuring slightly rounded corners and display, metal frame construction. In short, it’s not the next innovation in mobile phones, but it’s likely to be a good iteration on LG’s previous LG G7 ThinQ.
Ausdroid will be attending MWC in force this year so you can bet we will be bringing you all of the details and hands-on for the LG G8 ThinQ live from the show floor in Barcelona.
