Yes, it’s hard to believe that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 will celebrate 10 years since Samsung launched the first Galaxy S smartphone. To help celebrate this decade milestone, Samsung have released a new ocean-inspired version of the ‘Over the Horizon’ theme song, which came installed on the first Galaxy S.

The 2019 version of the “Over the Horizon” was inspired by the oceans combining synthesizers, strings and woodwinds to produce a large sound. The video, which you can view below, attempts to demonstrate the importance of ocean conservation and Samsung say it showcases the new technologies they explored in the development of their latest phone although it must be symbolic because there is not a tech product or phone anywhere in sight.

The video was filmed off the shore of Sipadan Island in Malaysia and follows Ai Futaki, a renowned conservationist and Guinness World Record-holding freediver swimming amongst the fish, turtles, sharks and other sea creatures.

To help with the celebration of ‘Over the Horizon’s’ 10 years, Samsung have also collated a look back at the previous version of the theme tunes, which you can view here.

As it’s not long now until the launch of the Galaxy S10, it will be interesting to see if Samsung can pull out some surprises. We will be covering the whole launch right here on Ausdroid so stay tuned.
