In this week’s top news, we found the cheapest place to buy a Google Home Mini in store, we saw some renders of Google’s upcoming Pixel 4 showing off some new colours, and we saw the strongest confirmation yet that Samsung’s Note 10 will launch mid August.
Let’s wrap it up.
First up, we received a tip that Bunnings had Google Home Mini on sale for just $36. We confirmed stock with a number of stores around Sydney and that it wasn’t a misprint, making this the cheapest Home Mini you can buy in store without any special promotion offers.
Unfortunately, though, this offer was perhaps a little too popular for the big green hardware retailer, as the offer has now disappeared from their website entirely. These offers come around every so often, so if you’re in the market for a super cheap Google Home Mini, you have to move quickly!
Just a couple of days ago, we saw some renders floating around of Google’s new Pixel 4 handset, and these ones show something new (beyond the already new things we’ve already seen). In addition to the square camera block, the dual lens and more, we’ve been presented with a mint green colour .. and it doesn’t look bad at all!
Their Purple-ish colour for the Pixel 3a has apparently been very popular, so there’s little surprise to be found in Google looking to extend this adventure into different colours to their flagship Pixel.
You do need to remember though that last year Google teased everyone with a Mint Green Pixel 3, but instead opted for the ‘Not Pink’ variety. Hopefully this year it’s not a tease.
Last, but not least, and perhaps filed under the ‘Duh’ category, is confirmation that Samsung will launch the next Note handset in mid August 2019, likely at an event in New York.
The information came to us via Verizon’s marketing calendar, also leaked, which seems to have the launch event locked in. As you can see, there’s not much other information in here (except the also “duh” confirmation that Google Pixel 4 will launch in October sometime), but this fits nicely with what we’d already expect.
On top of today’s rumours about the Note 10 potentially ditching microSD (on the non-Pro model, at least), there’s some tasty Note 10 rumours this week, and we’re looking for many more to come before the phone launches in a month or two.
