JB HiFi is offering probably the best price we’ve seen on a brand-new top-shelf smartphone at the moment. The big yellow retailer is selling the OPPO Reno 10X Zoom for just $399 up front when bought with a Telstra $65 plan over twelve months.
As if that’s not enough of a sweetener – this is a cracker phone – JB HiFi is also throwing in a pair of $200 headphones at no extra cost.
Scott has just finished his review of the OPPO Reno 5G which is – except for the 5G part – exactly the same phone as the Reno 10X Zoom. Thus, it comes highly recommended by Ausdroid as one of the better quality (and value) phones on offer at the moment.
Here’s the details of what’s on offer (via OzBargain):
- OPPO Reno 10X Zoom – normally retails for $1199
- Telstra $65 a month plan with unlimited calls, SMS and 60GB data
- Bose Soundsport Free Wireless Headphones – normally valued at $200
There’s a small catch, in that the headphones are only on offer for the next 10 days – they’re available by redemption only, for purchases before 14 July 2019.
The minimum total cost of the required Telstra plan is $780, so depending on how you look at it, you’re either getting twelve months of free mobile service (with a fairly sizable data inclusion), or you’re getting a brand-new (great quality) OPPO handset at well under half price, provided you take a mobile plan you’d have to pay for somewhere else anyway.
We understand, though, that with Telstra’s new plans (and them being month by month plans with no early termination fees) that you MAY be able to switch this plan to a month-by-month plan after signup, and port out with no penalty. However, as this isn’t advertised, and isn’t something we’ve tried nor can recommend, this is entirely within the realm of your mileage may vary and it’s on you to verify that.
