Yes, Christmas break is nearly over for so many school kids and with that comes a new year, often with new challenges and difficulties for kids to tackle. One of these can be extra travel to a new school or just even a new school. At times as a parent you want your child to be able to feel safe and sometimes all that is required is knowing that you are on the other end of a phone should you be required.
For this reason many parents buy their kids phones but let’s face it, the kids do not pay for them themselves usually and as such take very little care with them you you are unlikely to want to shell out for a premium device. OPPO have realised that premium smartphones are not what everyone wants and as such have a large variety at the more affordable end of the market. There are a few in particular which are good value for money and something you kids will not only like but want to use.
OPPO A9
The A9 is a camera powerhouse with a quad camera setup — a 48MP main camera, 8MP 119 degree ultra-wide lens, 2MP mono lens and 2MP portrait lens. The selfie camera is a high quality 16MP lens that sits within a waterdrop notch.
The display is a 6.5 inch display with an impressive 89% screen to body ratio. It is powered by a decent Snapdragon 665 chipset so you can be sure it will perform at a high enough level for your kids. Add in a 5,000 mAh battery and you never have to worry about your child being caught out with an empty battery.
The A9 is a great, affordable first phone for kids packed with all the features anyone could want. Available at $399 from Woolworths, JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, The Good Guys, Mobile Citi and Telechoice you could do a lot worse than getting your child one of these.
OPPO A5 2020
Fort hose who don’t want to extend to the $399 for the OPPO A9 they have a more affordable device priced at just $299, the A5 2020.
The A5 2020 has very similar specs to the more expensive A9. The rear camera setup is still a quad camera setup with the main lens being a 12MP in this case. It still has the Snapdragon 600 series processor along with a 5,000 mAh battery so is great value
The OPPO A5 2020 is exclusive to Telstra and will set you back $299.
OPPO Reno2 Z
The OPPO Reno2 Z is a step above both of the A series phones but you do get a lot more for your money.
Featured with a quad-camera setup featuring a 48MP main camera along with 8MP +2MP+2MP cameras and 5 X hybrid zoom and a 16MP pop-up selfie camera the Reno2 Z is a premium design for a mid-range price.
With a 4,000 mAh battery and VOOC 3.0 charging the battery should last all day but if not the VOOC charging will allow for a days worth of charge in just minutes. The display is a 6.5 inch AMOLED display with a screen to body ratio of 91.1% covered with Gorilla Glass 5.
If you want your kids to have a great looking phone with a high end camera at a decent price this is highly recommended. The OPPO Reno2 Z is available in a Luminous Black and a Sky White for $599 from JB Hi-Fi, Kogan, The Good Guys, OfficeWorks, Woolworths, Wireless 1, Mobile Citi, Telechoice and Catch.
I know when my daughter started high school I wanted her to have a phone for when she was on public transport so we’d know she was safe at all times. If you are buying a phone for your child and don’t want to break the bank it may pay to check out these options OPPO have.
