We’re a little over two weeks away from the unveiling of Samsung’s next bag of goodies including the Galaxy S20, Galaxy Buds Plus and the all new Galaxy Z Flip.
Today we’re getting more details about the device thanks to a small Twitter thread.
So Galaxy Z Flip. Capacitive fingerprint scanner on the side. Dual 12MP cameras, wide and ultra wide. 15W charging. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are supported.
It will use "Samsung Ultra Thin Glass" which has crease. It will use a Dynamic AMOLED display.

So what’s new? Firstly the Z Flip will seemingly come with a side mounted fingerprint sensor similar to how Sony used to mount there sensors, This makes sense for many reasons, not the least of which is they likely couldn’t get the under display fingerprint sensor to fit in the the current design. It may also ship with dual 12 MP cameras, 15W fast Charging via USB C alongside wireless charging including reverse charging support.
Display wise the main folding display will be using something Samsung is calling ‘Samsung Ultra Thin Glass’ on top of a dynamic AMOLED display. There has been several concepts for folding ‘glass’ shown off lately with everything from micro diamond coatings to truly fordable glass, so it will be interesting to see if this is really a glass product. The front display will be a 1-inch (reported as 0.1 but we’re assuming that’s a typo) that will mainly be used for status information such as the time, notifications battery info etc, it will however also act as a ‘view finder’ when using the main rear camera for selfies.
Like all leaks this should all be taken with a grain of salt, however there’s nothing overly controversial here so likely most if not all of it is correct.
