We have seen a Motorola phone with a stylus leak a couple of times in the last few days. Today there is another leak, this time of it in the wild.
91Mobiles have gotten their hands on a couple of photos of what is apparently a Motorola phone with stylus support — we are going with Motorola G8 Stylus. The images show the front with the punch hole display that we saw in the render leak yesterday and the rear of the device with the camera module.
The rear of the device has what appears to be a quad camera with a 48MP primary camera and a 117 degree wide angled camera. The other two lenses are likely a telephoto lens and a ToF lens.
The Motorola logo on the rear also seems to apparently house a fingerprint sensor — unlike everyone nearly else Motorola is sticking with the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor instead of the in-display sensor. This could also mean that the device is a mid to lower end device and cost cutting measures resulted in the omission of the in-display fingerprint sensor.
The image unfortunately does not show the stylus but the rest of the design matches what we have seen from the stylus-packing smartphone from Motorola. Some are expecting the phone to be announced at MWC which makes sense but does not match the date on the leaked renders (which normally indicates the announcement date — could it indicate the release date this time?).
The phone is expected to arrive with a 6-series Snapdragon chipset, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Hardly earth shattering specs which lends more weight to it being a low to mid-range device.
It is unlikely we will see the Motorola G8 Stylus here but you never know — there is definitely a market for a mid-range phone with stylus support. Would you be interested in this phone?
