OPPO are making a big push into India in the past 12 months and given the population of India it is easy to see why. Overnight they have launched the Reno 3 Pro 4G variant into the India market and the phone looks to have premium specs but not the premium price.
The Reno3 Pro 5G was launched into China recently but with India lacking 5G networks at the moment OPPO have launched a 4G version there. The Reno3 Pro 4G is powered by a Mediatek Helio P95 SoC with 8GB of RAM. It is available in 128GB and 256GB versions with a microSD slot for further memory requirements.
The display on the new device is a 6.5-inch FHD+ SuperAMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and an oval punch hole for the dual front-facing cameras. The front cameras are a 44MP primary camera and a secondary 2MP depth sensor.
The rear camera setup is a quad setup with a 64MP main lens which is capable of capturing a 108MP image, a 13MP telephoto lens capable of 20x digital zoom and 2x optical zoom, an 8MP wide-angled lens and a 2MP macro camera.
The battery is a decent 4,025mAh with OPPO’s 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0. Software-wise it runs ColorOS 7 on top of Android 10, a skin that has been improving year after year for a long time.
The phone will set you back ₹29,990 (AU$587) for the 128GB version and ₹32,990 (AU$646) for the 256GB version in India. It is unlikely to land on Australian shores but we have seen several of the Reno variants here so it is possible that it could where it will fit nicely into the lower to mid-range market.
How’s a phone launch in India relevant to Australia?
