The OnePlus 8 Pro is one of the most awaited phones of 2020 and is set to be announced in just a few weeks time. OF course we have seen a lot of spec leaks and rumours — as well as teasers by OnePlus themselves. Today a couple of images of the OnePlus 8 Pro in the wild have surfaced showing its design on the front and the rear.
PC-Tablet have managed to get their hands on a couple of live images of the OnePlus 8 Pro giving a fairly clear look at the upcoming OnePlus flagship. The images are not great photos but gone are the days or Mr Blurrycam and as such we can still see quite a bit of detail in them.
The rear of the device shows a camera module extremely similar to the OnePlus 7 Pro with three standard lenses — there does not appear to be a periscopic zoom lens present — with the flash located below said camera module. To the left of the module is what appears to be a 3D ToF lens to give them better depth of field images.
The front of the display shows a full screen display with a very small hole punch for the front-facing camera which seems to sit within the status bar and thus hidden when it is black.. The bezels surrounding the curved display look to be extremely small once again — hopefully the accidental touches are not a massive issue with bezels this small.
The buttons look to be the same as they have for quite a while with OnePlus phones — since the very beginning actually — with a power button and the alert slider on the right of the device and the volume rocker on the left side of the phone.
By now we know to expect some high end specs in this device with it packing the same 120Hz QHD+ display as the OPPO Find X2 Pro as well as a Snapdragon 865 with 5G capabilities and a heap of RAM. It will be interesting to see if they have improved the quality of their camera as much as OPPO did this year — we do expect them to have the same main lens. Add in a large battery with 50W Warp Charge and of course their industry-leading operating system / skin, OxygenOS, and you have an extremely compelling smartphone.
Keep an eye out for more details to leak in the next few weeks and don’t be surprised if OnePlus begin leaking / teasing information themselves to build the hype in the lead up to the launch.
Is this one going to function as a phone. I LOVE MY 7T but you can barely hear anyone on a phone call and it seems to be a common problem.
Sick as a device, terrible as a phone
Except for my OnePlus 5T with a slider on LEFT: “since the very beginning actually — with a power button and the alert slider on the right of the device “
