OPPO are continuing to grow their brand and marketshare, even in these trying times. Due to the current environment the demand for mid-range phones is most likely going to grow compared with that of premium smartphones. OPPO are looking to extend their mid-range marketshare with a new phone announced today, the A91.

The OPPO A91, priced at just $499, packs some impressive specs including a quad camera setup. The quad camera includes a 48MP main lens system (48MP & 8MP & 2MP & 2MP) and wide-angled and macro capabilities.

The front of the device includes a 6.4-inch waterdrop 1080p AMOLED display with a 16MP selfie camera in the waterdrop at the top of the display. Underneath the display is an optical fingerprint sensor which is a nice surprise given the aggressive pricing of the device.

The phone is powered by a Mediatek MT6771V and comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The battery is a 4025mAh battery with support for OPPO’s VOOC 3.0 flash charging with the ability to charge from 0 to 10 percent in just five minutes and to 35 percent in 20 minutes.

The new mid-range powerhouse from OPPO will be priced at $499 and be available in Lightning Black and Blazing Blue today from JB HiFi, Officeworks, Amazon, MobileCiti, and Woolworths Mobile and from Vodafone on the 15th April.
