With Covid-19 causing a bit of a disturbance in the retail industry and community in general, JB Hi-Fi is holding a clearance sale on some Nokia devices, which could be a good option should you be after a cheap mobile, work device or spare device to have around.
The clearance sale includes the following Nokia devices:
- Nokia 4.2 – $299
- Nokia 5 – $99
- Nokia 7.1 (Midnight Blue) – $349
- Nokia 8 (Steel) – $299
The main selling point here is the Nokia 5 being dropped down to under $100. This phone, now well and truly over 2 years old, has been updated to Android 9 (Pie) and will apparently still see security updates till at least the end of 2020 according to HMD Global/Nokia.

Nokia devices have become a bit of a firm favourite within the Ausdroid team; they offer some pretty decent specs at fair and reasonable prices, along with guaranteed major software and firmware updates for 2 to 3 years. As you can see, there is a lot to like about Nokia making the brand worthy of consideration.
These devices are available online through the JB Hi-Fi website and at your local JB Hi-Fi store but its best probably to check your local store to see if they have stock available before heading in.

Yeah, this is what I was originally thinking, but been kind of disappointed with the recent Google phones.
Nokia 9 is available in some stores. Interesting phone with mixed reviews.

From what I’ve heard and and Read about the Nokia 9, it’s hot garbage. I’d go a Pixel 3a or 3a xl instead
