As you would expect with the launch rumoured to be only a month away there are Samsung Galaxy Note 20 devices in the wild. Overnight one such device has been captured showing off pretty much all of the device.
@JimmyisPromo has managed to get his hands on one and of course managed to take some images to share on his Twitter feed. The images show a decent selection of what the rear camera module will look like along with the display and its bezels.
As you can see Samsung will once again opt for a centre punch hole display for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Samsung have always done amazing things when shrinking bezels and this device looks to be no different with the top and side bezels being extremely small. Interestingly the display looks to be curved, even though they steered away from the full curved display on the Galaxy S20 range.
The rear of the device is shown in two separate picture with both showing off a sizeable camera bump. This camera module looks to be smaller than that in the Galaxy S20 Ultra although Samsung seem to have taken a leaf out of Apple’s book (again) and have placed prominent rings around each lens. They have even placed a circular ring around the square periscopic zoom lens. The S-Pen is also shown off but that looks similar to previous generations but we expect Samsung to introduce some form of new functionality to it at their launch event.
The software version is shown in a screenshot with it running Android 10 and Samsung’s One UI 2.5. For those who are holding on to the headphone jack it is gone in this device — I suspect it is gone for good now from Samsung flagships.
It won’t be long until we see the Galaxy Note 20 series unveiled by Samsung. It looks to be more of the same and as expected, which is not necessarily a bad thing. The Note series in the past has been successful for Samsung. Do you think it will continue to be? Are you entrenched in the Galaxy Note lifestyle?
I’ll be honest, I wish more devices would use an active stylus like the Note series, and use a single global standard for active styluses.
Having used an S Pen and Wacom S Pen styluses on my Tab A 10.1 since March 2017, I find myself instinctively trying to use one of my Wacom S Pen styluses on my Nokia 6.1.
I have to then stop and remind myself that the Nokia doesn’t support S Pen.
