Back in June, we took a look at the Alcatel 3L which performed admirably for a device that’s under $200.00 outright. Well they’ve done it again, today announcing the Alcatel 1SE which has a pretty solid feature set given the cost.
The highlights include:

- 6.22-inch HD+ display
- 4,000mAh battery
- 3GB Memory and 32gb storage
Before anyone arcs up, this is not a phone that’s aimed at moderate to heavy users. This is a device that you’d potentially get kids as a first phone, an elderly relative or someone who is resisting the smartphone era. It’s an introductory device that will, no doubt for many, leads to bigger and better things later.
If nothing else it’s showing that a phone that costs as little as $200 is at least usable for a not insignificant number of potential users. Whether it’s for you, family or friends the price tag as a starting point has to make this worth a quick look and as we discovered previously – the features may surprise you.
