Samsung launch two new tablets, the Tab S7 FE and Tab A7 Lite

Samsung announced their much leaked latest tablets overnight, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Tab A7 Lite. Both are marketed as affordable devices, yet somehow are miles apart in both costs and abilities.

Tab S7 FE

Continuing with the Fan Edition (FE) strategy the Tabg S7 FE brings the best of the Tab S7 family to a more friendly price point, including a large 12.4 inch 2560 x 1600 LCD Display, 10,000 mAh battery, 5G option, S Pen and dual Dolby ATMOS Stereo speaker. Under the hood, there are two options, a 4GB RAM with 64 GB internal storage variant and a 6GB RAM with 128 GB internal storage option, both powered by an Octa-core OSC with 2 × 2.2 GHz and 6 × 1.8 GHz cores.

The Tab S7 FE will ship with Android 11 and includes a Rear 8MP AF camera and a front 5MP as well. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE will come in Mystic Black, Mystic Silver, Mystic Green and Mystic Pink and will be launching in ‘select’ markets in June. There’s no detail on pricing as yet.

Tab A7 Lite

At the other end of the market is the Tab S7 Lite, This 8.7 inch 1340 x 800 LCD offers a relatively strong package for the USD$159 price, which should see it retail for around $240 Australian Dollars if it is released Downunder. For that you get Android 11, 3GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage or 4 GB RAM with 64 GB internal storage and an Octa-core SOC with 4 × 2.3 GHz and 4 × 1.8 GHz cores.

There’s a 5100 mAh battery, rear 8MP AF camera and a front-facing 2MP​, an LTE option and comes in Grey or Silver. Samsung will be selling a book cover accessory which makes this a great tablet for kids, all be it slightly older ones. The Tab A7 Lite will also go on sale in select markets in June.

Samsung is undoubtedly the main player in Android tablets, while other OEMs are present (certainly much more than Google actually is) Samsung has really kept the ecosystem alive. Both the Tab S7 FE and Tab A7 Lite represent great additions to the ecosystem.
