Jays offers Chromecast speakers with Scandi looks, touch controls and no microphone for privacy lovers

Swedish audio brand Jays (better known for headphones) has launched its 2 new multi-room speakers in Australia aiming to differentiate with Scandi looks, inductive touch controls and no microphones which will appeal to privacy conscious smart speaker buyers.

Multiroom functionality means music, podcasts etc can flow through a home or office via Chromecast built-in or Airplay 2 if your home has more than one Jays speaker.

The compact s-Living One is could be suited for small to medium sized rooms such as bedrooms and kitchens. It features a 2-way mono speaker system with a 3.5-inch paper cone woofer and 0.75-inch tweeter.

The s-Living Three is better for larger living areas and open plan spaces thanks to it’s 2-way stereo speaker with 4-inch injection polypropylene cone woofer.

Jays promises software updates for the s-Living Three, these will automatically download via Wi-Fi and install in the background so that users can enjoy audio without interruptions.

As a point of difference from Google and Amazon smart speakers, Jays inductive touch-sense touchpad allows easy cycling through functions and control of music through simple touch and swipe gestures. Choose among five pre-defined EQ settings: JAYS Signature Sound, pop, rock, jazz or classical to best listen to favourite genres.

The Living One is $399 and the Living Three is $549 which sets them both at the pricier end of smart speakers of their size. For availability contact their distributor Ambertech
