The ASUS ROG Phone 6 is expected to be released on July 5, and to warm up the buzz, officials have revealed on Twitter that the ROG Phone 6 will be the world’s first gaming phone with IPX4 splash resistance.
IPX4 is the ability to withstand splashes from any angle for 10 minutes, a feature that ASUS claims to be the first in its ROG series and the first in the industry. While IPX4 doesn’t sound terribly impressive compared to some other devices, if the ROG 6 is actively cooled by fans even just IPX4 is decent protection for your device.
To sum up, the ROG Phone 6 has four key features we know so far:
- IPX4 splash resistance
- A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor
- A 6.78″ 165Hz screen
- Cetter cooling with a 30% larger liquid thermal plate and an 85% larger graphite sheet
Other specs are rumoured to include a 6,000mAh battery, 65W fast charging, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, weighing in at 229 grams and a 64-megapixel rear triple camera. As for the final specification, we will have to wait until the official launch on July 5 to reveal everything.
