HMD Global, the powerhouse brand behind the Nokia Android smartphones has launched the Nokia G42 5G which has been built with QuickFix repairability so you can replace cracked screens, bent charging ports and old batteries, all by yourself.

The partnership with iFixit will enable users to replace certain parts without the need to take the device to a repair centre alongside being able to order the parts easily and quickly from the comfort of their own homes.

The Nokia G42 5G comes with a 6.56-inch HD+ display (720 x 1612 @ 269ppi) that is powered by a Snapdragon 480 Plus 5G chipset processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB of onboard storage which can be expanded to 1TB via microSD card.

In terms of cameras, the Nokia G42 5G comes with a triple rear camera set up that is made up of a 50 MP main camera lens, 2MP depth and 2MP macro lens. The front facing selfie camera is a 8MP lens.

The Nokia G42 5G will run Android 13 right out of the box and will also come with Bluetooth version 5.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6, dual-band, USB-C charging port, side mounted fingerprint sensor alongside a 5000 mAh, non-removable battery.

HMD Global has stated that the Nokia G42 5G rear housing is made from 65% recycled plastic which continues HMD Global’s vision of sustainability and using recycled materials to make and use on their devices.

The partnership with iFixit enabled users to quickly and affordably get their fixed much easily alongside being able to have free-to-access repair guides, so everything you need to start self-repairing your Nokia G42 5G without paying for someone else to do it for you.

The Nokia G42 5G will come in So Purple colour from late July for $449 through nokia.com website alongside leading retailers.
