Ticketek Australia has recently identified a cyber incident affecting account holder information stored on a cloud-based platform managed by a reputable global third-party supplier. In email communication sent to registered users, the company assures customers that while passwords are securely encrypted and accounts remain uncompromised, names, dates of birth, and email addresses may have been impacted.
Credit card information remains secure as it is processed through a separate system unaffected by the breach. Ticketek does not store customer identity documents.
Upon learning of the incident from their supplier, Ticketek immediately launched a thorough investigation and has been working to notify affected individuals promptly. The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) has been informed, and Ticketek is in communication with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and the National Office of Cyber Security.
As a precaution, Ticketek advises customers to review cyber security guidelines to safeguard their information. The company has set up a dedicated 24-hour incident hotline on 1800 907 587 and an email support system for customer inquiries related to the incident.
