With the expansion of the Glass Explorer program going ahead, as well as some new hardware coming out which supports both prescription glasses and a mono earbud, what’s next for Google? Well, something they’re not normally accustomed to – Release Accessories.
The release of accessories for their Nexus program has traditionally been a pretty slow affair, with cases, chargers, etc. often taking months to come out and it appears that Glass is no different.
Android Headlines are reporting that four new accessories are now available through the Glass store for Glass Explorers. The accessories available include a mono earbud – available with four interchangeable caps in black, blue, red, and gray colors, microUSB Charger – US plug only, additional shades and clear protective shields which have been manufactured as part of a partnership with Maui Jim and Zeal Optics and finally a Japanese micro-fiber travel pouch manufactured from recycled materials.
The accessories will cost US$50 a piece except for the shields which cost US$75 and are available with the support site for each accessory indicating they will are available from October 28th, the same date that swapovers for the new version of Glass began.
