Fitbit Alta
Fitbit has today announced a new activity tracker with a focus on looking good, while still delivering all the results you expect from your Fitbit.

Called the Fitbit Alta, the tracker’s outstanding feature is the option to swap the activity tracking module out from the silicon band and into either leather or metal ‘bangle’ options you can purchase separately. The Alta will also track all your daily activities, including your sleep, and also has a reminder to move function and will notify you when you get call or text notifications on your smartphone.

The Fitbit Alta features a fair bit of hardware in the little tracker, including an OLED ‘tap display’ and a battery which will last up to 5 days. Also included is a 3-axis sensor to track all your movements, giving you data on steps taken, distance travelled, calories burned, and how many minutes you’ve been active.

The Alta costs $199.95AUD and comes in a choice of four colours (Black, Blue, Plum and Teal) on the Fitbit Australia website where it’s available for pre-order in three sizes.

The standard silicon bands will be available for $49.95 each, while a more luxurious premium hide leather band in graphite or pink will also be available for $99.95 and later this year, we’ll get to see a hand-polished stainless steel bangle option for $169.95.

As well as online sales, the Alta will also be available from Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks and Rebel Sport from March, where you should also be able to find alternative the bands to fit the Alta tracker into.
